Now that the spring rains have finally subsided, it’s time to start playing some golf!

This year’s annual charity golf scramble will be held on Saturday, June 18 at Juniper Hills Golf Course here in Frankfort. Lunch will be served starting at 11:30 AM, with a 1:00 PM shotgun start to follow. As usual, we’re looking for golfers and hole sponsors for this year’s scramble.

If you’d like to sponsor a hole, the fee is $50. All you need to do is click here to download the sponsor form. We’ll place a sign on the tee of a hole on the course with your name, or whatever message you specify, on it.

If you’d like to play in the tournament, we’d love to have you! You can bring a team of four, or just show up and form a team when you get there. If you want to enter your team, you can download the entry form here. The entry fee is $50 per person, and includes your green fees, cart, lunch, and prizes.

We’re extremely grateful to everyone who has helped to make this tournament such a huge success in the past, and we’re looking forward to seeing you all again this year as we try to make 2016 our best tournament yet! Come on out and join us for a great day of golf!

Frankfort Elk members, don’t forget that this Saturday is our annual Family Picnic! We’ll have food and drinks for you and your family, and of course we’ll have all the usual entertainment, including:

  • Cornhole Tournament
  • Baked Goods Auction
  • Silent Auction
  • Inflatable rides for the kids

Of course, you’ll also get to spend a gorgeous day visiting with your Elk brothers and sisters! The picnic kicks off at 12 PM at the Hancock Pavillion in Lakeview Park, so we’ll see you there! You’ll also get a chance to meet our wonderful State President, Pat Fletcher from Louisville Lodge #8, and his lovely wife Donna.

If you have any items you’d like to donate to the silent auction, or if you’d like to donate something for the baked goods auction, you can contact Sandy Moore, or just bring them along when you come.

We’re also holding our annual picnic day golf scramble at Lakeview Springs Golf Course that morning. Signups are at 7:30 AM, with a shotgun start at 8 AM. It’s a blind draw scramble, so you don’t need to bring a team. Just bring your clubs and be prepared to have a great time! You can contact Ricky May or Ellery Etherington for more information.

Elks Family Picnic is August 27

Posted by Elks 530 | Posted in Lodge Events | Posted on 16-08-2011

Just a reminder to all Elk members: Next Saturday, August 27 is our yearly family picnic at Lakeview Park. All current members and their families are invited. As usual, we’ve got a ton of activities planned, but we do need a little help from you.

First off, there’s a golf scramble scheduled for an 8:00 AMM shotgun start at Lakeview Springs Golf Course. All members are welcome. For information, please contact the lodge or Mike Etherington.

At the picnic, we’ll have all of these activities:

  • Silent Auction
  • Baked goods auction
  • Food & drinks for all
  • Cornhole Tournament (see below)
  • Dunking Booth
  • Inflatables for the kids
  • Brotherhood and good fellowship, plus a lot more!

We still need items for the silent auction and baked goods for the sale. We also need a few volunteers to take a turn in the dunking booth. If you’d like to help out by donating an item, lending a hand with setup or cleanup, or by baking something for the sale, please contact the lodge or ER Bill Moore.

Cornhole Tournamwent

As we did last year, we’ll be having a cornhole tournament for anyone who wants to enter. The cost will be $5 per player, and teams will be formed through a blind draw. There’s plenty more information on the tournament flyer, which you can download by clicking on the link below.

Annual Kids With Cancer Golf Scramble Coming Up June 5

Posted by Elks 530 | Posted in Lodge Events | Posted on 23-05-2011

Each year, the Frankfort Elks sponsor a golf scramble to benefit Kids with Cancer. This year’s tournament is coming up on June 5 at 1:00 PM (lunch starts at 11:30) at Juniper Hills, and we need help from our lodge members.

First off, if you’d like to play in the tournament, we can always use players. If you’ve got a team, or if you just want to fill in an open spot, please contact Renee Moss for more information.

We also need hole sponsors. You can sponsor a hole for $50, and can dedicate that hole however you like. It can advertise a business or remember a loved one who battled cancer.

Lastly, we need cookies or brownies for the lunch we provide our golfers. If you’re baker and can help with this, please see that the items are wrapped two to a bag and dropped at Juniper Hills (Jack Williams Pavilion) or at the Elks Lodge prior to the event.

We look forward to seeing you all at the golf course!

Elks Golf League Begins May 19

Posted by Elks 530 | Posted in Lodge Events | Posted on 12-05-2011

This year, our lodge is resurrecting the Elks Golf League, and it kicks off next week.

We’ll be playing at 6:00 PM at the Lakeview Springs Golf Course, located inside Lakeview Park at the corner of US 460 and Steadmantown Lane here in Frankfort. We’re planning on having a wide variety of events, with something a little different each week for those of you who are playing.

The cost to play will be $15 per player each week, which will cover the cost of 9 holes of golf, a cart, league fees and prizes. The first week we’ll be playing a straight round of golf, in order to begin establishing our league handicaps.

If you haven’t signed up for the league yet and would like to, the sign up sheet is located on the bowling alley door in the lodge. If you have any questions, please email webmaster@frankfortelks.org.
