The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks is one of the oldest and largest fraternal organizations in the United
States. The Elks Hoop Shoot® began as an Elks program in 1946 and is in its 40th year of national competition. Over four million boys and girls are expected to participate this year. This program is totally sponsored by the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks in the U.S.A. It is endorsed by hundreds of school systems around the country. Travel and lodging expenses for the contestants and their parents are paid by the Elks. The Hoop Shoot® program strives to build
character in our nation’s youth, while promoting integrity, hard work, quality family time and good sportsmanship.

Local Hoop Shoot Director Renée Moss had this to say about the shoot:

As our local director, I would like to thank all those that came out and supported our shoot on the 6th. Without this great
Hoop Shoot committee, we would not have such a successful event. I am afraid if I start naming all of those in attendance, I
would forget someone so I will just say a big THANKS to all ELKS that participated! We had several non-Elks and hopefully
some forthcoming members that assisted that day: Kim Satterwhite, Tanner Croley and Charlotte Pyles.
