Frankfort Elks Help Veterans with Transportation Needs

Lextran-Vets-2014-612

Bill Moore (right), Exalted Ruler of Frankfort Elks Lodge #530, presents $2,000 in bus tokens to Bill Klingenberg (left), Social Worker and Michael Guibord (center), Supervisor at the Leestown Veterans Center Homeless Program. This unit houses about 40 homeless veterans that come from all over the state of Kentucky.

The tokens will allow these veterans to use Lextran for transportation to and from doctor’s appointments and job interviews. They can also use the tokens to get to and from their jobs as they work to get their lives back on track.

This gift was made possible by a Freedom Grant from the Elks National Foundation. As our order has pledged, “So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them.”
