Frankfort Elks Lodge #530 recently held their annual Hoop Shoot free throw contest. Three boys and two girls, ages 8-13 won the first round of competition in Frankfort on January 8, 2012 and have been named Frankfort champions.
All contestants received a certificate of appreciation and trophies were given to all first, second and
third place winners in each of the three categories: ages 8-9; 10-11; and 12-13. Five champions now advance to the district finals here in Frankfort on January 28th where they will compete with other winners from 10 other lodges.
Local Hoop Shoot Director Renee Moss had this to say about this past weekend’s competition:
As our local director, I would like to thank all those that came out and supported our shoot on the 8th. Without this great Hoop Shoot committee we would not have such a successful event. I am afraid if I start naming all of those in attendance I would forget someone so I will just say a big THANKS to all ELKS that participated. We had several non-Elks and hopefully some forthcoming members that assisted that day: Paige Croley, Tanner Croley, and Charlotte Pyles.
Frankfort Elks Lodge #530 extends our congratulations to all the winners, and wish them the best of luck in the District Hoop Shoot later this month.
Here are the results, along with pictures of our winners:
8-9 girls Brooklyn Miles
8-9 boys Holden Smith
10-11 boys Tanner Banta
12-13 girls BriAnna Burbridge (2008 national champion)
12-13 boys Nicholas Wooldridge
