Frankfort Elks Members Win Veterans Service Awards!

At the recent Kentucky Elks mid-year convention, Ray Highley, Kentucky State Elks President, presented awards to two Frankfort Elks Lodge members for outstanding service to our veterans.

Bill and Sandy Moore were presented the Veteran Volunteer Award for 2011-2012 for unselfishly working with and for our nation’s Veterans. This award is given by the Elks National Veterans Service Commission. Bill, who is himself a veteran, is serving his 3rd term as the Exalted Ruler of the local Elks Lodge and Sandy was recently appointed as the State National Veteran’s Chairman for the Kentucky Elks Organization.

Bil, Sandy, and the rest of Frankfort Lodge #530 exemplify the pledge that the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has made to our nation’s veterans: “So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them.”
