Regional Hoop Shoot is This Weekend

This weekend, two young shooters will be traveling to Paris, TN representing our lodge in the Regional Hoop Shoot contest. If you haven’t heard about Dylan and BriAanna, here’s what Local Hoop Shoot Director Renee Moss had this to say in this month’s newsletter:

The Kentucky Elks Association recently held their East District “Hoop Shoot”® in Frankfort, Kentucky. Representing Frankfort Elks #530 was BriAnna Burbridge and Dylan Pittman. BriAnna shot against other girls from lodges across the state in the 12-13 year old group. BriAnna won and advanced on to the State level of competition. Dylan Pittman shot against other boys in the 10-11 year old group from lodges across the state. Dylan also won and advanced on to the State level of competition.

On February 12th, BriAnna and Dylan both competed in the Kentucky Elks Association State “Hoop Shoot”® here in Frankfort. Both won their respective age groups and advanced onto the Regional’s where they will compete against shooters from Tennessee, Arkansas and Missouri. The Regional “Hoop Shoot”® competition will be held March 12th in Paris, Tennessee.

Dylan also came home with two other awards: Jim Dorris Award and Jim Fuller ?Hot Shot? Award. The Jim Dorris Award is given in the name of our former State Director for the shooter that made the most free throws at the Kentucky State Competition. Dylan shot 23 out of 25. The Jim Fuller “Hot Shot” Award is given in the name of our former State and Central Regional Hoop Shoot Director for the shooter with the most cumulative shots made during the local, district and state contests. Dylan shot 63 out of a possible 75.

Frankfort Elks wish these two youngsters the best of luck as they move forward in this competition. The “Hoop Shoot”® program strives to build character in our nation’s youth, while promoting integrity, hard work, quality family time and good sportsmanship.

Thanks to the members of Frankfort Lodge #530 that worked and supported these two events. Without you this would not be a successful program!

All of us here at the Frankfort Lodge wish Dylan and BriAnna the very best of luck this weekend!
